Is SummarizeRay really free of a meeting bot?
Yes. It records system audio and your mic directly on your machine (ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI on Windows). No participant joins the call, so there is nothing for other attendees to see.
Does my audio ever leave my computer?
No. Transcription runs locally with Whisper. Only the resulting transcript text is sent to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key. There is no SummarizeRay server your data could reach.
What does it actually cost per meeting?
The app is $39 once. Summaries use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key — typically $0.01–0.05 for a one-hour meeting, paid straight to the provider.
